The Leica Ic

The Leica Ic camera, was introduced in 1949and the first 5000 cameras bore the serial number 455001 - 460000. Production ceased in 1952 with the last camera bearing the number 563100.
Produced as replacement for the Leica Standard, The Leica Ic has a simple body  primarily intended for record or scientific purposes The top of the camera is flat with no viewfinder. Two accessory shoes are provided and the shutter speed control knob is mounted on a large circular drum.

The name Leica is engraved on extreme left with the letters DRP directly under, to the right E Leitz Wetzlar Germany is engraved with the serial number.

The catalogue code word was OEGIO.
