The Leica Ig

The Leica Ig camera, introduced in 1957 in the same time that the Leica IIIg at camera number 887001 and ceased at number 987525.
Total production of 5968 issues.
Basically a Leica IIIg but without a build-in viewfinder or rangefinder.
No delayed action facility was provided as the camera was primarily intended for scientific or Visoflex use.
The camera top plate is supplied with two accessories shoes for attaching a separate viewfinder and range finder.
This model was the first to have the manufacturer name engraved on the camera front.
The shutter speed from 1 sec. to 1/30 are mounted on the camera front, B, 1/30 to 1/1000 on the top.
The rewind knob is partially  hided into the camera top plate and pulled up to use

The catalogue code word was
OCEGO.
