The Leica M6 TTL camera production commenced in 1998 and finished in 2002, this model carries the electronics for TTL flash metering and has an additional photodiode in the bottom of the camera body which measures the flash light falling on the film during exposure. It accepts the new Leica SF 20 flash in it or other units in SCA 3000 system with the adapter 3501. The camera exists in three version with different viewfinder magnification and frames for different lens focal length ranges :
M6TTL 0.85 for 35,50 ,75 ,90, 135mm
M6TTL 0.72 for 28, 35, 50, 75,90,135mm
M6TTL 0.58 for 24, 28, 35, 50, 75,90mm
Externally the camera is 3mm taller than the M6 and has a larger shutter speed dial which rotates in the opposite direction to that of previous models so that it is rotated in the direction indicated by triangles of the exposure meter in the viewfinder. The viewfinder magnification is engraved on the lower silvered area of the viewfinder window. The camera was initially available in black chrome, a silver chrome option was added in 1999.
Like the Leica M6 the M6 TTL has been the support for a number of limited specials editions
For illustrations an M6TTL satin chrome finish camera fitted by a satin chrome finish Summicron M 2/35mm ASPH. and satin chrome finish Leicavit manual winder.
By its side a black chrome finish M6TTL camera fitted Summicron M 2/35mm ASPH. in black chrome finish and Motor-M electrical winder, both in their genuine boxes.
Included some instructions for use in both German and French editions.
