Flash lights

BTLOO is the code word for the flash light attachment from 1935, the battery container clamped on the side of  the camera secured by a thumb screw fitting into the tripod bush.

The pillar above the batteries container had holders to take one or two flash bulb.

The synchronization was via the rotation of the shutter speed dial when it was released.

The switch arrangement is slid into the accessory shoe and was engaged with the shutter speed dial by means of a cap which fitted over it.

BTLOO fitted Leica II, III and IIIa

SYNCO ( 1938 ) New York ( Model V ) unit fitted onto the camera base plate via the tripod bush for Leica II, III, IIIa and IIIb

BUNOO ( 1939 ) New type Wetzlar gun with internal synchronization through the base plate. The camera base plate was replaced by a modified one to which the flash gun was attached via a dovetail slide and operated in horizontal position.
Fitted all cameras with large diameter base plate pin up to the IIIb model.

BLITZ ( 1939 ) New York ( Model VI  )& ( 1942 ) model for IIIc ( Model VII  )same as BUNOO

SELSY ( 1947 ) New York ( Model VIII ) similar to BLITZ but with adjustable milliseconds delay slider allowing synchronisation from 1/20s to 1/1000s.
Available with zero delay for electronic flashes.
For all Leica cameras with serial number above 111440 except IIc and IIIc.

SELAN Angle bracket to enable unit to be utilized in a vertical position.

difference, in lenght and shape,  between  SELSY and SELIS bases :

SELIS  New York ( Model VIIIa )as SELSY but for IIc and IIIc complete set in its genuine box :

CEYOO  (1950 - 1959)  flash unit for cameras with "f" synchronization.
Reflector folded like a fan. Battery capacitor type, capacitor began to charge when a bulb is inserted.
Accepted AS or SCC Bulbs.

CTOOM  / 15545 ( 1953 - 1964 ) adjustable bracket fixed to the base of the camera, to allow the flash gun  to be at the side at any angle through 180°.
